A detailed explanation of the various types of pigment dispersions:
Water based dispersions
We manufacture two standard range water based dispersions.
WBA Range:
Water based acrylic is a range of organic and inorganic pigments dispersed into an alkali soluble acrylic resin system. Primarily aimed at the inks industry, they are a cost-effective colorant. The main advantage of this system is that it will dry to provide a water resistant film. The system is based on ammonia but is also available on other types of alkali.
WBS Range:
Water based surfactant is a range of organic and inorganic pigments dispersed into a surfactant medium giving good resistance against flocculation and settlement. Primarily aimed at the paints industry, they prove a cost effective colorant across a variety of applications. Our WBS range are all APE free.
Solvent based dispersions
The solvent based dispersions we manufacture suit most applications including:
- CAB Cellulose Acetone Butyrate (flexible packaging or liquid inks)
- CAP Cellulose Aceto Proprinate (automotive or screen inks)
- PVB Poly Vinyl Butyral (packaging inks)
- Vinyl (PVC or wall covering)
- Acrylic (various industrial)
- Laropal (see UNL range)
- NC Nitro Cellulose (packaging inks)
- Alkyd (various paint or industrial)
- Resin free systems (various)
Universal (solvent) dispersions
We manufacture and stock a range of universal solvent based dispersions (UNL). This range can be used across a variety of resin or solvent based systems.
Plastisol dispersions
We manufacture a variety of plasticiser based dispersions designed to meet the needs of our customers. This includes:
- D.I.N.P
- Phalate free system
- Silicone oil
- Castor oil
These can be used in coil coating, injection moulding, automotive foam, shoe sole manufacture, and in various other areas. We also have a standard MOL (mineral oil) range that we hold limited stocks of in various colours.
We have an ongoing policy to always comply with current up-to-date environmental policies.
All of our products can be supplied in a variety of packaging, from 20kg plastic or metal pails, to IBCs.
