Northwest Dispersions was set up in March 1998 by Stephen Pickworth and William Price. The company was located initially in Warrington, Cheshire for the first 14 months of trading but due to an increase in business moved to Skelmersdale on 1st June 1999.

In December 2004 the company relocated to their current location of Burscough.

Burscough is situated on the main A59 road between Liverpool and Preston (3 miles from Ormskirk in Lancashire.

The industrial estate was converted some years ago from a military airfield used in the second world war called HMS Ringtail. At the main entrance to the industrial estate is a monument in honour of the personnel who lost their lives whilst serving from this location.
